First attempt at dodging and burning

The original
I am still working on this, but wanted to start with this post.  I hope you like it
This is edited even more, not sure I like it.  But wanted to try the red for the roses.  With a little work, I think it would turn out very nice :)

This is Aubrie with the watercolor filter and color enhancements.
I really like this one :)

Last filtered picture.  This is interesting.  Again, just more time and practice and I think I could make some pretty cool photos

PHOTOMOSAIC!!!

    I DID IT!!!

This is the original picture of my dear friend Stephanie :)

 Attempt #1

I did not like the coloring on this one

 Attempt #2

This did not have enough color, so I tried again....

Attempt #3

I still wanted the picture to be clearer overall

Attempt #4 ~ This is my Favorite

This looks the much more natural

I wanted to try a landscape shot in photomosaic, using the rectangles verses the squares.  Below is the original picture, then the 1st attempt and the 2nd attempt, which is the better one.  I add more tiles on the 2nd one.

Color enhancement

After ~  I adjusted this photo to create a painting-like appearance.  I really like it :)

~I just preview this and I think I must of done a mosaic overlay.  Not sure how to tell if I did?  I go back and see if I can tell.  For now, enjoy this one :)

~ Well, I went back and there was no way I could figure it out.  (at least for now)

The original photo.  This is the round barn at the Shelburne Museum

Original, unedited photo

This is the enhanced photo with light and color adjustments

I really like these photos.  This was exciting to do.  I am not excited yet about the mosaic.....YET!
:)

Figured out how to fix the 2nd pic

Now I would like to figure out how to shrink us on the photo.  Any tips?
WOW!!  This was really challenging...  This second photo, I swapped layers and now I see that the photo is black where there is "no photo".  It will take alot of practice to really master this.

My acrylic painting  ~  The shell is not complete yet....

First Photoshop attempt

Okay!  This is my first Photoshop.  Cropped, "magic wand"-ed and moved :)  It is so abnormal....
I hope I did it right!

Is this like the example photo #3

This is the original photo

This is the photo shopped photo.  Is this something like what photo #3 is?

This is my painting of the photo for my acrylic painting class at CCV.  I think it is so interesting to see the different perspectives

Friday Morning Landscape Photoshoot!

A view of Harris Hill Ski Jump from across the Retreat Meadows
A view of the Harris Hill Ski Jump.
The colors in the trees really pop.  Could they be buds?

This landscape photo captures the S curve rule.
I love the colors!  Blue sign, red and yellow fencing, plus the green wooden sides on the jump.

The famous Harris Hill Ski Jump.
Brattleboro's famous winter landscape!
The red barn makes for a perfect landscape photo in the middle of winter

 The farmer's homestead landscape

The layered look of the hills and mountains is amazing.
The one in the distant has a purple hue to it.

The sun coming over Mount Wantastiquet and shining down onto the Retreat Meadows

I had my Cannon on manual setting for this photo.  I altered the white balance in the custom setting.  I don't really know what I was doing with the white balance, but I was hoping to off set the brightness of the sun so I could capture more of an image rather than a white out.  I think it worked.
FS 16, ISO 250

I was trying to achieve depth in this picture, while capturing the beauty of the grass on the shoreline
All I can say is .....breathtaking!!!
I am never sure how a picture will turn out.
  I LOVE THIS ONE  :)
FS 5, ISO 1600
This picture captures the natural beauty of the landscape.  Can you see the red bush in the middle?
I think it "makes" the picture

This is another one of those photos when you never know what you are going to get.
How cool is the contrasting GREEN roof???

 Brattleboro's own winter playground

Morning Tea anyone?? ......

 Shanty ghost town!
I was so excited to find a collection of colorful shanties.  This looks very vintage.
FS 16  ISO 1600

I know it is another shot of the shanties, but the colors are different and crisp in this shot.  FS 9  ISO 100

There is a lot of depth in this photo

This view of the Connecticut River Valley makes it feel like a painting

This is my all time favorite.  The angle demonstrates the slope of the land and the grass defines the water's edge.  The shanty on the shore is captures in the rule of thirds.  I hope you like this one too!
FS 5.6 ISO 100

These two are the same shot, but one with the tree in the rule of thirds and one without the tree.  I think the one with the tree takes away some of the depth in this landscape.  The color in the clouds and the way they lay over the valley in the morning is very majestic.

Thin ICE!!  The trail of the water exposed through the thin ice helps to break up this landscape.  The red shanty in the back is the ultimate contract :)  Did you notice the aqua blue and green along the exposed water?  WOW!!

 LAST ONE......

Rustic, soft on the eyes and the array of colors is very warming
FS 11  ISO 320

I hope you liked my Friday Morning photo shoot of Landscapes in Brattleboro.  I had an absolute blast!
